The second new venue to this year’s schedule saw a spirited audience pack into the garden of The Anchor pub in Friday Street. Served mince pies by our hosts for the evening, the audience warmly joined in with the night’s surprise performer Johhny B Good.
He treated the audience to an uplifting set comprising some classics such as “I Saw Her Standing Her” and “That’ll Be The Day” interspersed with festive classics such as “Rocking Around The Xmas Tree”, “Merry Christmas Everyone”, “Dominic The Donkey” (featuring an unrehearsed introductory skit with event organiser and compere Richardo Rodway) and a “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.
£283 was raised for the night’s charity, Henley YMCA, with a host of raffle prizes including some donations from Nicola Baker Bakes, with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor presiding over the draw.
