Angelic on the bridge

Angelic on the bridge

With clear skies and calm weather, it made for a great night to be down by and on the river, and a sizeable audience gathered on the terrace at the Angel on the Bridge in support of the night’s fitting charity, Riverside Counselling. The hosts treated us to warm winter Pimms as well as delicious Turkey baps courtesy of partners for the evening Copas Turkeys.

Councillor Will Hamilton welcomed the audience before Hilary Arthur from Riverside talked about the charity. Richard Rodway then opened the 8th Advent door, the door to the downstairs bar, from which local singer / songwriter Georgia Michel emerged to treat the audience to some great versions off some Christmas classics “Winter Wonderland” and Jingle Bells”, a couple of contemporary classics in the form of “I Will Always Love You” and “Toxic”, and her own compositions including “Tiptoe”. The audience enthusiastically joined in with Jingle Bells.

Richard Rodway then presided over the raffle, ably assisted by Georgia and some children from the audience.

Day 9 now takes us to the gardens of Simmons & Son, where accountants Knox & Eames will be partnering, and where the Living Advent will be fundraising for the Chiltern Centre.
