Stuart Turner was the kind host again tonight. The performances this year have been doubled in length to 30 minutes, to provide even more of a show and occasion for the audience. Tonight though, one of the loading bay doors at Stuart Turner opened to reveal (through the haze of the smoke from the smoke machine tonight) the surprise of 2 performers for the first time.
Seasoned Living Advent performers, and tried and trusted favourites, Anne & the Doughboys entertained the crowds with some festive classics before then a second act was revealed for the encore, uplifting rap duo JC4Me.
Also debuting at the Living Advent tonight, we were delighted to have Pachangas Mexican restaurant partner for the evening, providing some fantastic and authentic Mexican cuisine, including tacos and churros. Feliz Navidad!
Councillor Sam Evans again joined Chair Richard Rodway in presiding over festivities. Children from the audience and photographer Martin Cook drew the raffle prizes, kindly donated by Purple Piglet Scarfs (Gerry Weber Scarf & Scarf Hanger), Bagatelle Toys (Lego Game) and Cook (voucher).
Next up for the Living Advent programme, it’s some more ‘firsts’. Mill Meadows Bandstand is a venue for the first time, with Naughty Mutt Nice and The Head Partnership Solicitors partnering for the first time, to provide festive doggy treats and human treats, for what has been dubbed ‘bring your dog night’.
