A seasonally chilly but idyllic night on the lawn at Leander Club, with the club house beautifully illuminated by Hugh Legh, with the stunning illuminated town as a backdrop and delicious mince pies and mulled wine courtesy of the hosts, was what awaited an audience of over 100 people on night #5.
Event organiser Richard Rodway and Amanda Collins, from the night's charity Riverside Counselling, welcomed the audience from the club balcony before introducing the night's surprise act. "8 years and 4 days ago precisely" announced Richard Rodway, "this act performed at the first ever Living Advent night, and so they have a very special place in our hearts", and a 50 plus strong Rock Choir then filed out of the building to take up position in front of the audience.
They performed festive and contemporary classics including "What Christmas Means To Me", "I'm Still Standing", "Silent Night / First Noel", "Since You've Been Gone", "Mandy", "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree", "This Is Me", "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Merry Christmas Everyone"
The raffle was then drawn, including prizes kindly donated by the charity, Leander Club, and partners for the evening Knox & Eames
Next up, The Spice Merchant hosts on night #6
