Nearly 150 people packed in to the Beer Garden at The Argyll for the penultimate "surprise" performance of the Living Advent Calendar, and they had a wonderful time. Professor Eek (aka Martyn Cooper) made both young and old laugh with his magic tricks, "tap dancing" and the best Punch & Judy Show I've ever seen.

350 years old this year, and Mr Punch is still going strong. The sheer Englishness, innocence and larger-than-life feel about it somehow fitted perfectly with Henley's unique event. The welcome from The Argyll and County Wills & Probate was warm and friendly, and the final mulled wine and mince pies of the season were enjoyed by all.
