Town Hall - Thursday 11th

Highlights

The weather outside was frightful, but inside the Town Hall the audience was served a delightful treat for the 11th instalment of this year’s Living Advent.

Newcomers to the Living Advent ‘Lucky To Be Alive’ treated the audience to a high energy entertaining rock and roll extravaganza, starting with ‘Sweet Home Alabama’, moving on to the likes of ‘Superstition’ and ‘Let’s Dance’ and the crowd duly obliged. Ending on a couple of fantastic medley’s the powerful performance was met with a suitably rapturous applause.

Living Advent Chair Richard Rodway spotted the band performing at the Henley Show in September, promptly invited them to perform in the Living Advent, and was delighted when they agreed to get involved.

As well as the musical extravaganza, the audience was also treated to warm mince pies, sweets for the children, wine and soft drinks by partner for the evening ‘the Old Bell’, as Henley’s oldest building set up camp in one of its slightly younger peers for the evening.

Richard Rodway then invited one of Lucky to Be Alive frontman Matt Richardson’s proud children to draw the lucky tickets for he raffle and awarded the prizes courtesy of Mapledurham Golf Club and Elements (Hair care products and cut / blow dry).

Next stop for the Living Advent is the Youth Centre for night 12, as the Living Advent is indoors again, and reaches the halfway stage.

Every evening Dec 1st - 24th, 6:15 to 6:45pm
