Next to the Early Rider offices, the treasure trove that is Lawlor’s The Bakers, full to the brim of Christmas gems and cakes galore. Another must see if you are wanting some treats for the Christmas period. Last year on arrival, the evening's guests were welcomed with hot mulled cider, and a selection of cakes and mince pies from Lawlor's.

We are "Lawlor's The Bakers" this is important as we, the bakers, are actually Baker by name and by nature. Mr. Lawlor started the bakery in the 1950's but the Baker family have helped run it for the past 35 years. Hence, it is an amalgamation of the Lawlor and Baker Families.

Lawlor's The Bakers are delighted to be involved with the Henley Living Advent Calendar again this year. Which gives us an opportunity to share our wonderful selection of Christmas goodies and to show case our hugely popular breads to the wider population of Henley.

Many people attending the event will have eaten our bread made by Christopher Baker as we supply the best chefs, pubs, restaurants and caterers in the South Oxfordshire area and have done for over 50 years!

Christmas is however, a special time for us to bake a seasonal selection of Mince pies, Stollen, our infamous Rum Truffles, traditional Christmas cake, Christmas Cup cakes, Shortbreads and Gingerbreads and our own Gingerbread houses.

Nicola, who makes most of the Christmas treats, remembers working in the bakery from a very young age,"as soon as we could reach the bakery table and make something worth selling we got paid !" " It is a real treat to see the children's eyes light up when they see the gingerbread santa teddies and know we are wowing another generation with our handmade goodies."
