Highlights

Night 3 of the Living Advent saw a return to Empstead Works, and the loading bay come stage of Early Rider, where hosts GPC Marketing and partners Lawlors Bakery treated everyone to their famous festive cheer. Phil and Gill Chappell sported some fabulously festive attire and served the audience some festive cider, whilst Nicola Taylor and our team served up some yuletide baked goodies. Fundraising on the night was for Bishopswood Special School again.

The ‘surprise performance’ took the form of a bespoke play written especially for the Living Advent Calendar and performer by much acclaimed and heralded local theatre company Reading Between The Line Theatre Co.

The play told the story of Santa’s Claus’ not so nice brother ‘Krampus’ who punishes ‘naughty children’. Fortunately he found none of those in Henley on Thames, and the story told of how Santa’s own daughter was ‘naughty’ but ended with her repenting, being reunited with Mr and Mrs Claus, and Krampus getting ‘back in his pit’, and ensuring a very happy ending.

Next, it’s time for something completely different once again, as the Living Advent becomes a part of the festivities amidst the road closure of the Henley on Thames Christmas fayre. The performance will take place outside of Boatique in Friday Street, with neighbours Hot Gossip kindly partnering. Fundraising on the night will be for one of the charities supported by the Mayor, the Teenage Wilderness Trust.

Every evening Dec 1st - 24th, 6:15 to 6:45pm
