Saint Mary's dates back to before the first stone building erected here after King John created the parish and installed the first Rector, Aumericus de Harcourt, in 1204. Although Aumericus' church was much changed over the years, with enlargements and added decoration, the nave still has some of the pillars he erected, and there is also much of the original stonework throughout the building. Saint Mary's today seeks to be a vibrant and welcoming community, serving our part of Henley, and providing the venue for many events and services throughout the year, not least at Christmastime.

We hope you enjoy this last night's performance and that it will provide a suitable beginning to the real celebration of Christ's birth.
